After surviving the tough times of the pandemic and the rising cost of supply costs, some of our favorite kopitiams and local coffee shops have started to raise their prices.
This got me wondering about the average price of kopi in Singapore, and when was the last time our kopi uncles and aunties raised their prices.
A trip to Yakun revealed the following kopi prices:
However, we all know that Ya Kun’s prices are on the higher side. There are smaller, equally popular coffee stalls or coffee shops that retail kopi at a more economic rate.
After some digging, I found that Singapore’s Department of Statistics reports the consumer price index and prices of consumer products regularly.
How much is kopi in Singapore?
I took the monthly average price of Kopi O and Kopi between 2014 to 2021 and produced the following graph.
As of Dec 2021, Kopi O is about $1.08 per cup while Kopi costs about $1.20, on average.
The last increase seems to have taken place in early 2021. However, do note that the data provided is an average price as reported by the department of Statistics. The range or raw data were not provided hence I’m not able to determine if there were any outliers.

Kopi in Singapore
Although specialty coffee in Singapore has seen a growth in popularity in recent years, kopi remains a key part of the coffee culture in Singapore.
The pandemic has resulted in disruptions in supply chains and the upcoming GST hike will affect the cost of kopi across the entire chain. Currently, we’re seeing a ~30% increase in kopi prices from our kopi roasters this year.
That said, kopi prices have increased steadily over the years but remain affordable. I don’t think there’ll be a huge spike in retail kopi prices this year, but a 10 to 20 cents increase is highly likely.
P.S. If you’re looking to cater local kopi at your upcoming events, we provide traditional kopi stations for events.
