Coffee
All coffee bags contain specialty coffee, delivered at their peak.
Most coffee will come grounded (at the max of 2 days before it reaches you) and packed into brewing bags.
Brewing instructions for your Coffee Bags
This is how we’d recommend you enjoy your coffee:
All you need to do is:
- Remove the coffee bag from its pouch
- Place it into a cup
- Add hot water (90 C is recommended, although water off the boil works as well)
- Wait for 6 mins
- Remove the bag and enjoy your coffee. (This ensures that the coffee extraction yields an balanced cuppa. If you like your coffee slightly over-extracted or more bitter, feel free to leave the bag in the cup as you drink.)
In special cases, whole bean coffee may be requested, should you wish to explore other methods to brewing your whole bean coffees, we have a selection of coffee brewing guides that you can read here.
Here are some of the frequently asked questions that you might have:
When is the coffee best consumed?
We would recommend you to brew the coffee within 2 days from receiving it for the best drinking experience.
How should I store the coffee?
If you are planning to consume it within 2 days, just keep it in a cool area, away from direct sunlight.
If you are planning to keep it for a longer period, it is advisable to place it in container away from items with strong scent.
When does the coffee expire?
There are no fixed guidelines to determining the expiry of coffee. However, we’d recommend you to chuck your coffee if it hasn’t been brewed in 2 weeks.
Alternative Uses for Stale Coffee
If you can’t enjoy it in time, there are other ways to use the coffee you’ve received:
- Use it as an odor absorber / freshener of sorts : Coffee absorbs smells from its surrounding easily, leave the bag where you’d like to remove bad odors.
- Fertilizer / Compost: Coffee grounds are known to contribute nitrogen to compost or soil. If you know someone who likes to plant, they’d probably love to get their hands on your stale coffee grounds.
Black Tea / Flower Tea
All tea bags contain a single portion of premium tea or flower tea, prepacked into ready to use teabags.
Our black tea features Dilmah’s premium range that also happens to be served at higher end restaurants. While our flower teas are from a local supplier that specialises in importing fresh flower tea and herbs from around the world.
